Nobody agrees on what marketing actually sourced.
Marketing counts a deal as originated pipeline. Sales looks at the same deal and says it was already in play. Finance does not care who gets the credit, only whether the total is enough to cover planned bookings by the end of the quarter. Same deals, same CRM, three positions, and you are the one asked to settle it.
The definition changed and nobody wrote it down.
Somebody edited the MQL rule in March. The CRM overwrote the old one. Now a movement in the metric could be the business or it could be the method, and you have no way to tell the difference.
You cannot reconstruct why attribution looked the way it did two years ago.
The rule that produced the number does not exist anywhere anymore. Not in the CRM, not in a doc, not in anyone's memory. So the question gets answered with a shrug.
You found the bad records. You still cannot size what they cost.
A list of 400 broken rows is not an answer your leaders can use. They want to know what it means for pipeline and bookings, and that translation is the part nobody automates.
It always surfaces the night before.
The problems are found under deadline, by you, alone, with the deck already half built.
